SOUP & JAM music night at THE NAKED CROCODILE CAFE

Hi Guys! Hope all is well.

Paul and I would like to personally invite you to our first SOUP & JAM music night at THE NAKED CROCODILE CAFE tomorrow night Saturday the 20th of April.

Our great friends, Steve and Jen have re-opened the cafe and Paul has built an awesome little stage for us to run music nights in the intimate little boutique venue.

Entry of $25 includes your choice of hearty soups as well as fresh made breads.

You also get our amazing company!

As the venue is BYO it's a great opportunity to grab the esky, some friends and sit back and enjoy a great night of music.

For our first night we have Brian Fraser, an amazing finger-picking blues master, sharing his unique style of music with us from 7-10pm.

Coffee and sweets also available.

A maxi cab will also be available at 10:30 for those wanting to party on into town and we will cal Matt at the limo service for anyone wanting a private taxi.

see the link below and join our new website, which is under construction. If you are a fellow muso, pop you details in the artists form to be included in our up-coming gigs.

Please come along, we would love to see you there.

Love Paul and Mel

Celebrating Melbourne weather in the tropical north!

Celebrating Melbourne weather in the tropical north!

A quick update about this weekend - AFL fixture at the Whitsunday Sportspark, Jubilee Pocket just past Airlie Beach.

We are hosting the Country Championships for the under 16's over both days.

There are 4 local kids in the Mackay squad (Tory Pendrey, Max Manners, and Deon Ball & Eli Gunders), and we are hoping they go to the next level which is the country squad (Kookaburras).

Teams are from Cape York, Cairns, Townsville, and Mackay & Capricornia and will be a very good contest.

As with the past few carnivals & events which have been a massive success we are calling for volunteer help over the two days.

If possible we need assistance on Saturday & Sunday with running the BBQ and helping out with canteen duty, scoreboard & the like.

This will be one of our biggest fundraisers so all the help will be appreciated.

If volunteers could be at the ground on Saturday & Sunday at 8.00am that would be fantastic.

Thank you all for your ongoing support of the Sea Eagles & especially the representative program. The more kids that play at this higher level the better their transition into senior football will be.

There will be people from the Gold Coast Suns recruiting staff & also the QLD under 16's coach so please wear your Sea Eagles polo shirts to showcase the club & region. We are vying for AFL teams to come here next year for their Pre Season training camps.

Airlie Beach is For Sale

Hi Everyone

It has been a few weeks since I last emailed and a lot has happened in that time. One big thing happened for me personally and that was my sister-in-law lost her battle to cancer. At only 48, it was incredibly hard to watch but a relief when it was over for her. Cancer is such a terrible disease and we need to help find ways to prevent it. For this reason both Stephen and I are participating again in Relay for Life. This year it will be help in Proserpine on 27th to 28th April.  If you would like to donate to this great cause please click the link below.

Easter looked to be very busy, with lots of accommodation places booked out and cruise ships coming in every day. I would like to congratulate Probuild over the Easter break. The main street may be in a mess, but Probuild had both footpaths open all the way along the street for the busy weekend making it easy for the tourists to get around.

Other big pieces of news have been

·         The Shute Harbour Marina has new developers backing it and their concept was released to the public

http://www.whitsundaytimes.com.au/news/new-marina-plans/1799835/

·         Woolworths cleared the car park in town to start their development plus main street update

http://isellairliebeach.com.au/blog/category/main-street-upgrade/

·         Port of Airlie completing $11.6M in sales in 12 Weeks

http://www.thehomepage.com.au/news/port-of-airlie-11-6m-sales-rush/

Combine these with the sale of Abel Point Marina and the start of the golf estate – Regatta Waters, it would appear that the bigger money players are coming back into our market place. Whether you agree with these projects or not, they show confidence in our market and give employment to many people over time. This then promotes housing, both owner and rentals, as well as spending in our shops, which helps boost our economy. There is definitely more confidence in our area then we have seen over the past 3-4 years.

To help our still deflated unit market, Harcourt's are holding an Auction with a difference on Sunday 19th May. We have designed a marketing campaign  to promote our units to the greater Queensland investors. By featuring approximately 15 -20 units, we have negotiated deals with Courier Mail, Gladstone and the Whitsundays.

To offer our unit owners a way of selling their property by utilising a competitive marketing campaign with a huge amount of exposure. The auction will be held on a Sunday, so investors can come up for the weekend and catch the Sunday afternoon plane back to Brisbane. Ben Brady, Harcourt's corporate auctioneer and Queensland's number one auctioneer, along with Ben Chick, Queensland number one sales person, will be joining us to support and assist.

If you would like to know more on this Auction Campaign email me for more details on Sharon.dewsbury@harcourts.com.au
