Community Tree Planting Day

Community Tree Planting Day

When:        Sunday 20 June, 9 am to 12 pm

Where:       Galbraith Creek, Galbraith Park Drive, Cannonvale (follow the signs)

Why:            Donate an hour or two of your morning to help continue the revegetation of Galbraith Creek - adding to habitat values, reducing weeds and reducing erosion.  

Grab a snag from the bbq on your way in or while having a break with other volunteers.  The site is suitable for all ages.

Hand tools and refreshments will be provided.  Please wear closed in shoes, hat and gloves.

This project has received cash funding from the Reef Catchments Mackay Whitsunday Public Fund. 

Mulch has been donated by Whitsunday Regional Council and

Native plants have been grown by WCL volunteers at the Land & Water Community Centre.

Art Whitsunday – 23^rd annual Art Exhibition = Shingley Beach Resort – over this weekend.

Cannonvale State School, Queensland's most beautiful school just a stone's throw from the ocean, opened its doors on April 25 1910 and they're celebrating their 100th birthday this year. The fun begins with an old time dress-up sports day on Friday July 30, at the school. Check the school website for updates or give the office a call. Just make a note of that date: July 30. Includes the opening of the new school hall.
