The Whitsunday Regional Council is conducting a public meeting to discuss the possible
creation of a botanic garden at Cannonvale foreshore.

* The role and purpose of botanic gardens - Mr Lawrie Smith – landscape architect, designer of the Mackay Botanic Gardens
* The Mackay botanic gardens experience- problems, obstacles and achieving the vision - Ms Helen Poulsen – Manager Parks and Environment – Mackay Regional Council
* Public discussion and way forward - Mr Scott Hardy – Interim Program Manager Environment and Compliance, Whitsunday Regional Council
· Tea and coffee will be provided
· The Council will be conducting a survey to gauge the communities view on the proposed botanic gardens.
