Would a Monorail work in the Whitsundays?

Would a Monorail work in the Whitsundays?

The NSW Government is about to dismantle the Sydney Monorail's 3.6km track and trains.
Would the monorail work in the Whitsundays?
This route would service a proposed Restaurant / Lookout above Airlie Beach from both Airlie Beach and Cannonvale and is 3.12km long.

Due to lack of bookings for the Trivia Night, which was to be held this coming Saturday 31 March, it has been decided to postpone the event to a later date.     There are too many events occurring this weekend in Airlie which has probably affected booking.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Whitsunday Regional Council is today announcing that the Port of Airlie boat ramp will be temporarily open to boat users in the region from tomorrow, Tuesday 27 March 2012. Due to the inclement weather conditions experienced last week, the initial opening date of Friday 23 March 2012 was delayed. Whitsunday Aero Club - spirits not dampened

Good Morning

I have just spoken to Garry Poole regarding the Lake Side breakfast, unfortunately due to past and forecast weather he has decided to postpone the event to a later date.

Garry wasn't concerned about:-

·         The low cloud and poor visibility

·         Wet strip

·         Long grass on the strip

·         Aircraft or cars getting bogged

His main concern was:-

·         A squadron of aircraft arriving and not being able to leave

·         And that he would be eaten out of house and home

Garry is intending to attend a WAC Inc club meeting in the near future and give everyone a good briefing on both of his airfields.

Regarding tomorrows, March 18th,  club day at the WAC Inc club rooms – It may not be a good day for flying but, if the roads are open, there is no reason why we can not partake in clubroom activities such as movies/DVD showing, flight planning, general aviation talk, and oh yes a BYO BBQ.

Our International Womens Day Brunch Sunday 11th March  is almost here and it is shaping up to be a corker!
Our speakers this year are Serena Drummond who some will remember from previous years when she has been the wonderful benefactor donating of one of her pearls for  prizes.

Our next guest has a somewhat different story to tell and we will hear how she experienced her early life in the Indigenious Community  and right up to today where she is the founder and manager of the Regional Indigenious Employment Programme in Bowen.    Her story should help to give us more insight and understanding of  the Current community discussion on the rights and position of our indigenious peoples.

We have some fantastic Auction prizes in several holiday accommodation packages : ferry transfers as well as three nights accommodation on Hamilton Island, courtesy of PJ Halter two nights accommodation at Coral Sea Zest Design has kindly donated a web site a couple of  "booze buckets"  Kerry and Rob Kenyon have once again donated picture framing, Carol Brauners much sought after dog trim and many many more.    We are still getting together our Rolling Raffles conducted throughout the morning so come along and join us for what promises to be a morning of fun
